Ray Hello, John? It's Ray. This email : stop sending me petitions about problems animals have got. Endangered animals, experiments on animals, depressed pandas, neurotic squirrels, bipolar bears... I don't care. I've got a sci-fi blockbuster to write, I can't sit around caring about nature. I mean, what's this? There's only 5,000 tigers in the world? Sounds like loads. What to do need 5,000 for? I'm thinking a couple for public appearances, a few more for photographs for calendars, stunt ones for films, maybe eight, six to ten for breeding, I'm adding this up on my pad, let's stick 10% on for contingency, I mean... I can't even get up to fifty. What? There were 100,000 in the 19th century? Well, that was a problem that needed addressing.
